This piece got two specimens as I felt like went together. The upper flower ended up having a surprise on it that I chose to keep. Bing pressed on 28 July 2025, the petals have held a very tiny beetle this whole time (which is now preserved). You can see it as a small dot at about 7 o’clock on the lower portion of the petal. I imagine it had been in the center portion of the flower and I accidentally overlooked it but now it is part of the art piece. It is a reminder that these pieces are a snapshot of nature and an ecosystem that encompasses those we cannot see upon a quick glance.
